When it comes to surf gear, it's always better to go with the original. Back in 1952, Jack O Neill opened up the first surf shop in a garage in California. Not jaded by the lack of surfers at the time, Jack was determined to find a way to make surfing even better for the few surfers that were out there. He did this by developing wetsuit designs that fit the needs of all surfers because they could now surf throughout the year, no matter how cold the water would get. Soon, with more and more improvements to the wetsuit designs and styles, Jack's surf shop became a local hang out and the number of surfers began to grow. Surfing territories expanded and so did Jack's company. This led to the O Neill that exists today: a leader in the surf industry by creating innovating surfing gear and products, as well as a sponsor of major surfing competitions around the world. O Neill is now an internationally known company that thrives on the thrills that surfers get from sporting their gear year round - all because of Jack's determination and vision of what surfing could be.
